Another Youtuber Nearly Trashed a $250K Ram TRX

The Ram TRX 6x6 Warlord is an aftermarket monster of a truck. But no amount of reinforced steel can protect you from stupid.

YouTube videos of ridiculous stunts gone wrong are not a new form of entertainment. But a recent upload of an attempted
pickup truck
jump might be one of the most epic and expensive fails to date.
The
Triple F Collection
(TFC), a car channel that obviously has way too much disposable income, attempted to jump a Ram TRX at a private off-road track. The results were not great.
This was no ordinary TRX either. Its aftermarket conversion kit rose the value of the truck to $250,000.

The Ram 1500 TRX 6x6 Warlord—not your average offroader

The regular Ram TRX is not a cheap truck. Starting at nearly $80,700, it costs $46,700 more than the base Ram 1500. But that pales in comparison to the pickup TFC destroyed for views on its YouTube channel.
Modified by Apocalypse Motors in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, TFC’s Ram TRX 6x6 Warlord does not look like it was designed for jumping. The added weight from the extra two rear wheels alone looks like enough to keep the truck on the ground under any circumstances.
But the Warlord was designed to withstand a beating. The extra power afforded by its Apocalypse-tuned 850-hp Hellcat engine gets sent to all six wheels. On top of that, the conversion kit also upgrades the strength of the suspension, the wheels, and the undercarriage.

Where TFC’s Ram TRX 6x6 Warlord stunt went wrong

The Ram TRX 6x6 Warlord shocked the guys at TFC. From the performance modifications to the kevlar-wrapped exterior, they were more than impressed by the pickup. It didn’t take long for them to take the truck out in the mud to see what it could do.
Attempts at getting the Warlord in the air went well at first. They got it off the ground successfully 15 times. But that didn’t seem to satisfy them.
To up the ante, the group increased the size of the jump before trying again. But because they didn’t increase their speed as well, the truck’s nose went straight into the landing ramp. Ouch!
Thankfully, no one seems to have been seriously hurt by the crash, but
Road and Track
says the left suspension was pushed backward and the skidplate crumpled from the impact.

Despite that cringeworthy ending to TFC’s Warlord, their videos showcasing the truck might have you wondering what it would cost to own such a machine.
The answer? A lot. Besides the $250,000 asking price from Apocalypse Motors, the cost of
car insurance
for the truck would likely be astronomical.
