300-hp cars for under $9,000

The 2009 Chevy Impala SS V8 can be found for about $6,000, even with the recent uptick in used car prices. A sister car to the Buick LaCrosse Super Sedan, the Impala features a 5.3-liter LS4 small-block V8 engine and front-wheel drive. It takes this historical car 6.1 seconds to ramp up from 0 to 60 mph.
The 2010 Hyundai Genesis GT Coupe was listed for $7,875 and can stand up to the midsize luxury competition. Lexus and Infiniti better watch out, because this 306 hp two-door can reach 60 mph in just six seconds.
The sports coupe has a V4 and V6 engine option with a standard six-speed manual setup accommodating both. According to
HotCars
, “The Hyundai’s unique design style has a bold Z-shaped feature alongside a dip in the glass next to the cabin’s rear.”
If your budget is around $8,000, the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP can be found for $7,943. Deemed big on the outside, and small on the inside by Car and Driver, the 303-hp sedan provides a powerful and capable engine. When new, the Grand Prix GXP can be found for about $22,500 but in the used market, you may be able to locate one for as low as $2,500.
Grab a Dodge Charger while you still can, as Dodge will officially stop producing them in 2024. The 2010 Dodge Charger R/T can be purchased for $8,110. The muscle car boasts a 5.7-liter V8 engine that can reach 60 mph in about six seconds.
Though the Dodge Charger R/T wasn’t as much of a moneymaker as the automaker expected, it can still crank out 368 hp. According to HotCars, “It has hardly changed and still maintains its sleek, sophisticated look, that combines a traditional muscle-car aesthetic with modern sedan style accents.”
The 2009 Land Rover Range Rover can be found for under $9,000 with a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V8 engine. The 4WD auto has a six-speed automatic transmission and the Range Rover Sport weighs a whopping 5,700 pounds.
Though the Range Rover’s heavyweight does affect its performance, the SUV’s
luxurious
interior more than makes up for it. Since the brand doesn’t have the best reliability ratings, make sure you have some money set aside for repairs.

300-hp cars for under $10,000

The 2011 BMW 335i Sedan comes in at just 300 hp with a used price of about $9,336. The final year of the model E93 generation, the auto’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine was swapped out for a twin-scroll single supercharger.
The new engine, also known as N55, is well equipped with torque and is much more reliable. The 335i can jump to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.
Another excellent model from 2011 is the 2011 Infiniti G37 Coupe coming in at $9,380. Both the coupe and convertible are loaded with style and sophistication. They both provide responsive powertrains and have smooth steering.
The coupe version is a bit more lavish, with automatic control, an intelligent key, and leather upholstery. Four-wheel drive is standard, but an all-wheel drive is also an option.
The 2011 Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6 is listed for around $9,343 while the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon 3.6 V6 is about $10,011. A great luxury car and pretty good handler, the 2011 Cadillac CTS features a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 304 hp and rear-wheel drive. If you’d prefer a wagon version of the stunner, the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon will get the job done.
Americans love their Mustangs. If you’re a fan, you’ll be happy to know that you can snag a 2010 Ford Mustang GT for $9,819. With the V8 version, the 315-hp vehicle can reach 60 mph in about 4.9 seconds, with a 2100 rpm output. The 2010 model also features suspension enhancements and upgraded 18×8-inch aluminum wheels.
