background
When it comes to
classic cars
we think of some hot muscle cars from years past, or awesome sports cars. But keep in mind, that what makes a car classic is its age, not its style. Enter the practical, yet somewhat luxurious for the time, 1999
GMC Yukon
Denali.

Background and specs on the 1999 GMC Yukon Denali

Is it a truck or SUV? Well, it's hard to say, while
Cars.com
lists it as an SUV but then continuously calls it a truck, so it’s somewhere in the middle. The vehicle is large, though so don’t anticipate being able to drive into small spaces.
The 1999 GMC Yukon Denali has excellent handling for its size and it insulates its passengers from even the rockiest roads and is a great off-roading vehicle.
Engine wise the car has an older Chevrolet 5.7-liter overhead valve V8, four-speed automatic transmission and gets 255 hp and 330 pounds per feet of torque.
The Denali gives the driver the option of either driving rear-wheel dive, Autotrac four-wheel drive, or automatic four-wheel drive. This final option uses rear-wheel drive until the car feels four-wheel drive is necessary.
The 1999 GMC Yukon Denali came in the Luxury Convenience and trailering packages.

The interior on the 1999 GMC Yukon Denali

The 1999 GMC Yukon Denali has large, supportive, reclining front bucket seats with leather being used there and throughout the vehicle along with accents of wood.
The rear seats are just as comfortable and the passengers in both the front and the back are given climate controls and heated seats.
Coming standard on the Denali are heated seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors, and an integrated garage door opener.
Storage-wise, outside of the trunk, there is an overhead console and a floor-mounted center console that has multiple bins and even a flip-up area to hold a cell phone.
When it comes to audio there's a Bose sound system on the dash that comes with a single CD player (keep in mind this is back when CDs were a thing), a six-CD changer in the center console, and AM/FM stereo/CD-cassette.
In the rear, passengers have controls that allow them to access different audio from those in the front.
