, enthusiasts are in for a luxurious upgrade that maintains the best features of this beloved compact SUV.
According to

, the new CR-V is slated to appear in showrooms this summer. Read along with car ownership super app Jerry as we break down everything you need to know about the updated CR-V, and how to get serious savings when shopping for a new car.

What’s new for the 2023 Honda CR-V

The Civic and CR-V have always gone hand-in-hand in upgrades as the CR-V was built off the Civic, so an update for the Civic meant one was inevitable for its SUV counterpart.
The new CR-V shares a chassis with the Civic, so drivers can expect the same smooth handling they get in the crosser version.
The MacPherson strut front suspension and variable-ratio steering are now mounted to a new, stiffer subframe, which improves the feel and accuracy of steering.
The interior is reminiscent of the Civic’s updated new look. EX and Sport models get a 7-inch touchscreen while EX-L and Sport Touring models get 9-inch versions. EX-L and Sport Touring come with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and wireless device charging.
Honda has given the new CR-V an upgrade on comfort as well with all-new seats that help to “reduce fatigue and improve posture,” according to Honda. Three extra inches of length contribute to added cargo space.

Specs and more of the 2023 Honda CR-V

Gas-only models will be available first, but the most powerful version—the hybrid—will come later. EX and EX-L models get an updated 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 190 horsepower, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Sport and Sport Touring models will have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and an electric motor, which make 204 horsepower.
The EX and EX-L models get up to 76.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

Will the new CR-V be able to take on the competition?

The current reigning champ of best-selling crossovers is the Toyota RAV4, but the new Honda CR-Vv could be dynamic enough to outsell it.
The last time the Honda CR-V was redesigned was in 2016, and it shows. In spite of being known for its great resale value, ample cabin space, and capable engine, the current model suffers from somewhat dated design and cabin tech.
Honda has yet to reveal pricing, but the current model starts at $26,800 plus a $1,245 delivery fee. If it wants to compete with the RAV4, it will need to stay below or around the RAV4’s approximate starting price of $27,000.
