While
BMW
and other automakers might be focusing on eco-friendly lineups, for now, they’re sticking with improving their gas-powered vehicles. BMW is releasing a new X1 in 2023, but are there any differences from the 2022 model?

Specs on the 2023 BMW X1

The 2023 BMW X1 is an all-wheel drive vehicle with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This BMW gets 241 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds.
The suspension on the vehicle has been revamped to help with making it more stable and easier to handle.
An M Sport package may come later which would add bolstered seats, a more customized steering wheel, and some exterior modifications to make the vehicle look sportier.
The package would also include additional performance-based features like steering-wheel mounted shift paddles and an adaptive suspension system.
While the EPA hasn’t released the mileage for the 2023 BMW X1,
Car and Driver
estimates that the mpg will be similar to the 2022 model with 23 mpg city and 31 mpg highway.

Interior and tech on the 2023 BMW X1

Compared to the previous model year, the 2023 X1 is slightly larger so there won’t be much of a difference in terms of spaciousness.
However, the interior is more up-to-date with the vehicle’s toggle-switch shift lever, all-digital dashboard, floating center console, and more luxurious features like textured speaker grilles.
Coming standard are a power liftgate, ambient interior lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. If you’re looking for a panoramic sunroof you’ll want to get the Convenience package, with other options like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel would not be part of any package and are additional add-ons.
Tech-wise the 2023 BMW X1 has a digital dashboard and a solo panel that shows the gauge display and the company’s iDrive 8 infotainment system screen.
Features included on any version of the X1 are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and an option to get SiriusXM satellite radio.
If you do decide to get the Convenience package it will include a smartphone charging pad. The Premium package, the highest-end one, will include a 360-degree exterior camera system, heads-up display, and a Harman/Kardon stereo system.
