The design of the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte is gorgeous and anything but ordinary. With a bit of a price drop, the fancy auto
with elegant body lines starts just under $98,000. Check out why we can’t get this exotic vehicle with an Italian flair out of our minds.
Satisfying transmission and powertrain
This full-size luxury sedan features a rich-sounding exhaust and rivals sedans like the BMW 7-series, Mercedes-Benz S-class, and the Audi A8. Though the Quattroporte’s competition provides more convenience and overall comfort, the Maserati brings the thunder.
The sedan’s Ferrari-derived engines and Skyhook suspension make the 2022 model a pure joy to drive. According to Kelley Blue Book (KBB)
, “This adaptive suspension system makes the Quattroporte satisfying to drive on winding back roads, straight highways, or in other driving conditions.” Maserati's Quattroporte lineup has also been simplified to three trims. The 2022 Maserati Quattroporte comes standard with a V6 engine that pumps out 345 hp with 369 lb-ft of torque. However, drivers can opt for the sport Modena’s 424 hp or even 580 hp with the top-spec V8 Trofeo model.
As far as engines, two twin-turbocharged options are available. Drivers can choose between a 3.0-liter V6 or a 3.8-liter V8. Rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic are standard. “The Quattroporte rewards enthusiast drivers with a firm suspension, agile handling, and well-weighted steering that's both direct and communicative,” Car and Driver
tells us. Though neither engine options are the most fuel-efficient, the twin-turbo V6 with rear-wheel drive is the more economical choice. It gets an estimated 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
Car and Driver would “spring for the more powerful Modena model, which wears a more aggressive exterior look, unique 20-inch wheels, extended leather upholstery, and sleek black trim.”
They’re also a fan of the Sportivo package that includes a faux-suede headliner, sport pedals, and adjustable memory foam front seats. If you want to live your best life, you should also snag the Comfort and Convenience package which will get you some soft-close doors, heated rear seats, a power-operated trunk, and adjustable foot pedals.
The Modena model can also come equipped with an all-wheel-drive for an extra $4,500.
An upscale experience tailored to preferences
The Maserati Quattroporte has standard tech features for days. Not only do drivers receive power rear sunshades, LED tail lights, adaptive full LED headlights, open-pore wood trim, and 19-inch wheels, but they also get a heated steering wheel, sunroof, wireless charging, and a cool analog clock.
Fortunately, the automaker allows for several customizable options for buyers to put their own stamp on the car.
With various appearance packages and interior trimmings. According to Car and Driver, “While it's not as spacious or as comprehensively equipped as the mainstays in this segment, the Quattroporte still offers an upscale experience with a unique, performance-oriented bent.”
The Maserati Quattroporte has a more snug interior than you’d expect (closer in size to the BMW 5-series or the Audi A6). The trunk space leaves much to be desired.
And if you purchase the Executive Rear Seats package, there actually isn’t that much room for an average-sized adult to recline. However, back seat passengers will enjoy their own climate control set with heating and ventilation.
Based on Google’s Android Automotive platform, the infotainment system features a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Drivers will have access to a voice-activated virtual assistant, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Upgrades include a 10-speaker Harman/Kardon setup or a Bowers & Wilkins system with 15 speakers.

Safety features and warranty
Buyers can also count on many cutting-edge safety features to be standard as well.
The 2022 model’s offerings include lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode. Not to mention a 360-degree camera system and traffic sign recognition.
Though the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte doesn’t cover regular maintenance visits, its coverage does match its BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz competition. The auto’s limited warranty will cover four years/50,000 miles and its powertrain warranty will cover the same.
