The Nissan brand has several vans under its name. Its 2021 Nissan van strives to offer small-fry cargo hauling on city roads amid competition from electric van start-ups. The 2021 Nissan van has a few upgrades from earlier models, including two trims.
Over the years, Nissan has tried to create a van that offers both space and maneuverability, especially for transport and relocation businesses, while still being affordable and easy to operate.

a worthwhile buy
? Let's look at its features to find out.

The 2021 Nissan NV200’s interior and cargo space

According to
Car and Driver
, the Nissan NV200 is 185.6 inches long from front to back with a wheelbase of just 115.2 inches. This makes it one of the smallest cargo vans on the market.
Despite the short length, this model has a whopping 123 cubic feet of cargo space, which is standard in the market. It also has wide-opening doors, making it possible to fit 40-by-40-inch pallets.
The doors open at a 40/60 split, with the shorter door on the street side to minimize traffic disruption if one were to open them on the side of the road. You can also bend the front passenger seat if you carry long cargo.
Though some features fall flat, with the cloth interior looking a bit cheap. It also has minimal technology with a 7.0 touchscreen, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Apple, Android, and USB connectivity options.
There are a few changes in the 2021 Nissan NV200 model. Unlike earlier models where cruise control was optional, it is now standard. The SV trim also has rear backup sensors and a choice of various colors.
Each of the two trims comes with two packages; sliding door glass and back door glass. The sliding door glass package has a sliding door glass with a wire mesh guard on the passenger side and rear door.
On the other hand, the rear door glass comes with privacy glass installed in the rear door windows.

The Nissan NV200 engine and fuel efficiency

MORE: Nissan Announces $17.6 Billion Investment into Electric Vehicle
The 2021 Nissan NV200 runs on a two-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 131 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque, which isn’t much, even for a street van. Its competitors, such as the Ram ProMaster City and
Ford Transit Connect vans
, have more powerful engines.
On the bright side, the NV200 offers a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The technology offers a smooth ride, especially when driving at lower speeds down the road. However, the CVT has a slower response and poor acceleration.
The engine can achieve 24 mpg on the streets and 26 on the highway thanks to the CVT. Unfortunately, this fuel efficiency comes at the expense of capability.

Is the Nissan NV200 a worthwhile buy?

According to
Edmunds
, the 2021 Nissan NV200 has several pros and cons that you may want to check if you wish to buy it.
The model's high fuel economy is a plus, while its low load floor makes it easy to load and off-load cargo. Its small size also makes it easy to maneuver through narrow streets.
However, it has a low-powered power engine and a long stopping distance. Its interior also looks relatively cheap and is devoid of cutting-edge technology.
The vehicle is a worthy buy if you're looking for a compact commercial van to move around in or just a cheap two-passenger van for supplies and other errand-based tasks. However, it is not recommended for long-distance cargo transport or carrying heavy or oversized weights.
