Drivers who buy or lease a plug-in hybrid or battery electric vehicle and install an eligible electric vehicle charger at home can save up to $2,500 with incentive programs in New York.
Of the energy consumed from transportation in the U.S., about 90% comes from petroleum. The majority of greenhouse gas emissions also come from the transportation sector.
With the hope of getting more drivers to choose electric vehicles, many states offer incentives, like rebates, which can make electric vehicles more accessible.
Incentive programs differ depending on the state, so the car insurance comparison and broker app Jerry has compiled a guide to New York electric vehicle incentives.
