New Jersey
replacement title can be requested in person at a Vehicle Center for a $60 fee. If you don’t have proof of ownership, you must order the replacement title by mail.
A title is the most important document for any car owner, as it legally certifies
of the vehicle. But life happens—whether it’s a fire, a flood, an absent-minded moment, or a hungry pet, all kinds of accidents can cause you to lose your car’s title.
If the title disappears or becomes damaged, you’ll need to order a replacement.
