What you’ll need to get a replacement title in Missouri

Here is what you’ll need to apply for a replacement title in Missouri: 
  • Completed Application for Missouri Title and License (Form 108) with signature
  • Your application must include your Missouri address in the owner area
  • At the top of the form, check the box labeled “DUPLICATE”
  • In the “Duplicate Title Only” block near the bottom of the form, indicate why you’re applying for the duplicate title
  • Get the form notarized. This means a notary public must witness you signing the form, and complete the notarization box in the “Duplicate Title Only” block
  • Signed certificate of ownership
  • If there’s no lien on the vehicle and you want the title to be mailed to a different address than the one provided in the owner’s portion of the application, mark an “X” in the “Mail To” block and write that address in the space provided.
  • If you need a duplicate title because your original was damaged in some way, you need to return the damaged title along with your application.  

    How to apply for a replacement title in Missouri

    You can submit your application along with the fees to any Missouri license office. You may also submit to:
    Motor Vehicle Bureau
    301 West High Street, Room 370
    PO Box 100, Jefferson City, MO, 65105-0100.
    You will have to pay the $8.50 duplicate title fee and the $6.00 processing fee and any state/local sales tax that may apply.
    If you choose to mail your application, remember to not send cash. Instead, send a money order, check, or cashier’s check.
